Calibration of your HV service tools

HV service tools such as the VAS 6910 or VAS 6558A/B are used for safety-critical measurements on high-voltage systems. Regular calibration ensures that measurement results are precise and reliable. Without valid calibration, incorrect readings can lead to improper repairs and endanger personnel.

According to the Volkswagen Group's test equipment monitoring list, the devices VAS 6910, VAS 6910A, VAS 6558A, VAS 6558B and VAS 6972 must be calibrated. We also offer the service for all AVL DiTEST VAS devices.

Initial calibration is due after 36 months, all subsequent calibrations every 24 months. Exception: For the VAS 6972, initial calibration is required after 24 months, with subsequent calibrations also every 24 months. All intervals are mandatory and are verified during group audits.

Calibration includes the complete verification and adjustment of all measurement functions – including voltage, resistance and leakage current measurement. Additionally, a firmware check is performed, the device is professionally cleaned and subjected to a comprehensive functional test.

Factory calibration is performed according to internal manufacturer standards. For the described HV service tools (VAS 6910, VAS 6558A/B, VAS 6972), we exclusively offer factory calibrations. You receive a documented factory calibration certificate for each calibration.

With the All-Inclusive Service or exchange service, you receive a ready-to-use exchange device in advance. You install it via Plug & Play and return your current device in the supplied shuttle packaging. For individual calibration, you send in your device. Internal processing time at AVL DiTEST is approx. 5 working days (from goods receipt to dispatch). Shipping times are additional depending on location.

Not if you use our exchange concept or the All-Inclusive Service. In both cases, you receive a ready-to-use exchange device in advance. Operational downtime is therefore excluded.

Germany and EU: AVL DiTEST handles the complete shipping process. International customers outside the EU: AVL DiTEST organizes the return shipment to the customer. The shipment of the device to AVL DiTEST is arranged by the customer. Devices are transported in special shuttle packaging designed for the safe shipment of sensitive test equipment.

Yes. Each calibration is documented with a factory calibration certificate. This serves as traceable proof for auditors and in quality management.

As part of the refurbishment, your device is completely overhauled: professional ultrasonic cleaning, technical update to the current standard, calibration and comprehensive functional testing. The result: a technically fully tested and professionally refurbished device.

The service fee depends on the selected service model and device type. With the All-Inclusive Service, all services – regular factory calibrations, extended warranty, repairs and permanent device availability – are included in a fixed fee. Yes. With the All-Inclusive Service, you receive an extended warranty for the entire contract period. In case of failure, we provide an exchange device within up to 48 hours (EU and USA). For other countries, delivery times may vary due to customs and transport times.
